Team of the Week!

The gameweek had its fair share of major upsets as well as matches with a splendid no. of goals scored.
The results:

Aston Villa                   2-0                  Cardiff City
Chelsea                        2-2                  West Brom
Crystal Palace              0-0                  Everton
Liverpool                     4-0                  Fulham
Southampton               4-1                   Hull City
Norwich                      3-1                  West Ham
Tottenham                   0-1                   Newcastle United
Sunderland                  1-0                   Man City
Man United                 1-0                   Arsenal
Swansea                      3-3                   Stoke

Aston Villa gathered nerve to put a halt to their bad form of late with a vital win against Cardiff at Villa Park, meanwhile Chelsea needed a bad refereeing decision to snatch a point at home against Giant killers West Brom ruining Steve Clarke's homecoming. Crystal Palace managed to snatch a point from Roberto Martinez's high flying Everton side, despite having had almost non-existent possession of the ball. Liverpool and Southampton romped past their awestruck opposition with each side scoring four goals in the process, though Liverpool managed to keep their first clean sheet since their victory over Manchester United. Meanwhile in the late Saturday game, Norwich claimed a vital three points over West Ham.

The fixtures on Sunday yielded three major upsets as a Loic Remy goal and heroics from Tim Krul  gave Newcastle victory over a Spurs side who seem to be missing Gareth Bale's heroics with every passing game, despite the arsenal of talent available at their disposal. Meanwhile, Sunderland managed to edge past Man City thanks to a Phil Bardsley goal.
Swansea's encounter with Stoke proved to be quite entertaining from a neutral perspective as Stoke put on their scoring boots to draw 3-3 with Micheal Laudrup's side. The game-weeks main attraction, however was the clash between Man United and Arsenal. The spotlight was firmly set on Arsenal as to whether they could continue with their current momentum, after back to back high profile wins against title rivals Liverpool and champions league side Borussia Dortmund. However, it turned out to be a case of familiarity breeds strategy as former Arsenal captain, Robin Van Persie scored the only game of the match to give Man Utd a win that lifts them up to 5th place, 5 points behind Arsenal.

Keeping in mind the results of this gameweek, the team of the week is,

GK: Tim Krul

CB: Martin Skrtel

CB: Nemanja Vidic

LB: Phil Bardsley

RB: Chris Smalling

CM: Lucas Leiva

CM: Steven Gerrard

LW: Phillipe Coutinho

RW: Jonathan Walters

CAM: Adam Lallana

CF: Luis Suarez

Manager: Tricky, but for the victory over Arsenal, I'd give it to David Moyes.
